The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training

Full Description:

My name is Colleen Aldstadt, and I have registered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training to walk in the White Rock Half Marathon (13.1 miles) in Dallas on November 1, 2003. Team in Training is the original and world’s largest endurance training program and since it’s inception in 1988, 150,000 participants have raised over $350 million for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This year our goal is $82 million. As part of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program, I will join thousands of other people around the country to train for and walk in a marathon, my first half marathon! Just imagine the thrill and sense of accomplishment that comes from completing a half marathon and then add to that the opportunity to support a great cause. I could not be more motivated. Through The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program, I will have the opportunity to work with a veteran coach and will receive advice on form and technique, race strategies, injury prevention and nutrition. What you should know about Leukemia: • Leukemia & its blood-related cancers strike some 107,900 Americans each year and kill 60,500. • Leukemia is the #1 cause of death in children between the ages of 1-15. That’s the bad news. The good news is that the survival rate has risen from 4% in 1960 to 81% in the last decade. Most of us have either lost someone to cancer or know of someone who is struggling with the disease. I have both lost loved ones as well as witnessed the extreme joy of beating the disease. Please support me in my fundraising efforts and allow me through your kindness and generosity to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in its battle against leukemia. Donation Info: Please send tax-deductible donations in the form of cash, check, or credit card to the Highland Village address. Make checks payable to: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and write Colleen Aldstadt in the memo line. If your company matches donations made by its employees, include a matching form with your donation. (Please ask your human recourses dept. if unsure) Feel free to pass this letter on to others that may be interested!
