CITY REPAIRING CONCRETE ON PARKVIEW AVENUE
Full Description:
Motorists who normally drive down Parkview Avenue will have to seek an alternate route from now until Jan. 5 as the road is being repaired.
City of McKinney road crews began repairing the broken concrete on Parkview Avenue to bring the street back up to the original grade that provides proper drainage, said Steve Hill, spokesperson for the city of McKinney. Approximately 244 square yards are being repaired from Wilson Creek Parkway to the north U.S. Highway 75 service road for an estimated $12,467, Hill said.
The road crosses Wilson Creek Parkway where McKinney High School is located, and is heavily used before and after school. MHS is currently closed for winter break and schools in the McKinney Independent School District will reopen Jan. 9, 2007. The roadwork is expected to be completed by Jan. 5, before MHS reopens, weather permitting, Hill said.
Motorists are asked to use Rockhill Road as an alternative route to Wilson Creek, Hill said. There is an electronic sign notifying motorists of the road closure near the northeast corner of U.S. 75 and Parkview Avenue.
